Year 2 fighting women’s cancers!

Reading Time: 4 minutes

OK, so we’ve now raised £50,168.09 and the second year of our our national charity partnership with The Eve Appeal is off to a FABULOUS start. Thanks to our people and our wonderful customers, we’re well on our way to smashing our target of £100,000 to fund research into earlier detection of the five women-only cancers of the cervix, ovaries, vagina, vulva and womb.

MAKE TIME FOR TEA FOR OVARIAN CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

March was all about cakes at Saks, as well as amazing hair and beauty we hasten to add! Make Time for Tea is now a bit of a tradition as our customers have embraced getting involved for our super-worthwhile cause.

WE HOBNOBBED AT THE HOUSE OF COMMONS

To kick-start our year two fundraising, Janet and Vicky from Saks UK and Andrea Currah, (owner of top Saks4Eve fundraising salon 2015, Saks Hexham), attended the House of Commons tea party hosted by Sharon Hodgson MP for Washington and Sunderland West, and Chair of the APPG on Ovarian Cancer.

We caught up with Sharon and team-Eve and chatted about Saks4Eve to some fab new friends including top beauty blogger Caroline Hirons, actress Helen Lederer, Richard Arnold of Good Morning Britain… all of whom were super-impressed with what our people are doing.

All month we served gallons of tea and coffee with the occasional prosecco, along with an array of delicious cakes and nibbles. We also raffled gorgeous hair and beauty goodies and dished out informational leaflets. All with great hair and beauty, in the best company… what’s not to like?

Special mentions for “fun” fundraising in March…
