Ok so our fundraising for women’s cancers is getting CRAZYSalons .
Fabulous fundraising continues apace in Saks salons across the UK all in the name of our two year charity partnership with The Eve Appeal. Here’s our latest round-up of what happened in August… including a VERY special Sunday in September.
APPOINTMENTS FOR DONATIONS ON #SAKS4EVE SUNDAY
On 6th September lots of our Saks salons opened their doors wide offering hair and beauty appointments for minimum donations. Our stylists and therapists gave their time FOR FREE and got busy making our customers feel super-special on a Sunday!
With an amazing array of fun things going on in-salons in five hours we raised a whopping £10,000… and we’re still seeing donations come in from this special day.
A massive shout goes out to teams who gave their time for free on #Saks4Eve Sunday:
Saks Aberdeen, Saks Ashton, Saks Barnard Castle, Saks Bishop Auckland, Saks Chester, Saks Derby, Saks Dundee, Saks Durham, Saks Exeter, Saks Halifax, Saks Harrogate, Saks Harrow, Saks Kenilworth, Saks Kings Hill, Saks Lincoln, Saks Liverpool, Saks Lytham, Saks Middleton, Saks Northallerton, Saks Poulton, Saks South Shields.
15,000 SKYDIVE FOR SAKS SUTTON COLDFIELD
We LOVE this. Saks Sutton Coldfield salon owner Donna Horton and team members Laura Harris, Laura Cibulskyte and Lucy Fletcher like the thought of pushing their boundaries so they signed up for a 10,000 feet jump with Skydive Buzz Dunkeswell at Taunton.
On the day they had to endure an agonising SIX hour wait due to rainy weather. Luckily for The Eve Appeal the sky cleared and team-Saks was upgraded to jump at 15,500 feet instead… in for a penny, in for a pound girls. Err, scratch that in for £1,779.71, this being the amount raised by Saks Sutton Coldfield so far.
Can’t wait to find out what our official Saks Thrill-Seekers have got planned next!
BLOW DRY WORLD ATTEMPT AT SAKS BARNARD CASTLE
Stylist Jess Hesp at Saks Barnard Castle got to thinking how she could do her bit for #Saks4Eve and came up with the fab idea of a world record blow-dry attempt, raising £375 in the process.
Jess spent a full day giving Saks customers blow-dries, managing a total of 18!
Jess says: “I was trying to do as many as I could and I’ve done a few more than I thought. I’ve been in touch with the Guinness Book of World Records but it will take a few months to validate. I think I’ve set a good benchmark at 18. It’s amazing how much has been raised. I’d like to thank everyone who has donated for all the support.”
A BIG OLD SAKSY QUIZ NIGHT AT SAKS LINCOLN
We all love a good quiz night and our Lincoln lovelies pulled out all the stops to make this one special at our Saks salon in the David Lloyd Club. With a customer’s husband giving his time as quiz master there was also a big Saksy Saturday night spread with customers, club members, friends and family attending.
Big hugs to Melissa Graham, Front of House, who spent lots of time getting an array of donations from lovely local businesses for a big prize raffle… an amazing £663.70 raised on the night!
L-R: Helen, Jo, Chloe, stylist Sophie, therapist Sophie, Lucy, Melissa, Rachel, Chelsea and Zoe.
24 HOURS OF HAIRDRESSING AT SAKS CHESTER
We’ve already told you about salon owner Nicky Hughes and her amazing 24 hours of hair appointments, oh and £1,144.30 achievement! Read more.
At the end of August £17,000 had hit The Eve Appeal’s bank with a further £10,000+ transferring from #Saks4Eve Sunday as we speak. We can’t wait to update you at the end of September as there are yet MORE amazing things happening all month.
