Zoe rocks shoots and shows
Newark got lucky. Not only is Zoe Chamberlain an amazing salon owner (find our Saks Newark salon at 20 and 22 Castlegate) but she’s also a longstanding honorary Saks Artist as well. That means she regularly flies the flag for Saks adding the wow-factor at loadsa big shoots and shows over the years. So how lucky that she’s now well and truly landed in Newark!
THROWING IT BACK TO 2014
Zoe’s creative journey started when she was a stylist at Saks Lincoln and salon owner Rachael spotted her creative potential and encouraged her to enrol for Saks A-TEAM. This is a year-long advanced creative training programme being mentored by Saks’ creative director Luke Pluckrose and the other Saks Artists. Like a duck to water, Zoe took to exploring the world of avant-garde, worked hard and produced a stunning final collection. She then took up all the opportunities that then started to come through. And the rest is kinda Saks history.
BRIGHT LIGHTS, BIG CITIES
The gigs are impressive. To name but a few… The BRITS – check… London Fashion Week(s) – yup… The Clothes Show more than once – loved that… pop-ups with Glamour magazine… a blast. And in 2019 she achieved one of the biggest things in the UK hair industry by being part of the Saks team that put on the jaw-dropping Geometric Reflections show-opener at the L’Oreal Colour Trophy Grand Final. We brought the house down, has to be said.
Zoe loved heading down to London on a regular basis to add the wow-factor with Luke and the gang. Another good thing about getting involved creatively, meant that she got to hook up with other likeminded Saks stylists and has made real friends for life as a result.
And speaking of the L’Oreal Colour Trophy… Zoe entered and made it through to the Grand Final with Sophie of Saks Lincoln, back in 2015.
SO WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR OUR NEWARK SALON?
Despite the lure of The Shows, Zoe’s number one dream was *always* to own her own Saks salon. And she did that with bells on. Fab team who’ll be nurtured just like she was, glitzy salon interior (the first Saks salon in this look) and ultimately, providing beautiful hair for our customers . Works wonders with colours and gorgeous extensions by the way!
