The joy of Couture Fashion Week

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Couture Fashion Week in Paris is always The Dream. This season was Something Else and Saks was there!

Our creative director Luke Pluckrose led the hair team for Tamara Ralph’s breathtaking ‘La Perle Rare’ Fall 2025 show. And SEVEN Saks stylists joined him to assist in creating an array of showstopping hair looks to complement the elegance of the collection.

WE LOVE TAMARA RALPH

What a show! Statement silhouettes. Winter whites and delicate blushes. Corsets and pearls and beautiful embellishments. The hair styling had to be exquisite to match the intricate artistry of each of the 35 stunning pieces.

INTERPRETING COUTURE HAIR

Backstage, Luke led the handpicked hair team, shaping an array of styles to echo Tamara’s signature styles. Hair was polished and effortless and 100% harmony with the clothes.

Luke says: “Tamara’s shows are celebrated for fusing timeless elegance with modern twists. For the hair we created an array of low sculpted buns, intricate twists, 40s waves, texture and soft sleeks.”

SAKS STYLISTS ONSIDE

Luke continues: “Being part of Saks gives our hairdressers the chance to take their creativity to a different level. We always make backstage a great environment to work in. Imagine getting to work on a fashion show in Paris. I love that our Saks stylists get to contribute on runway shows.”

SPECIAL STYLING IN SALON

Luke: “Our stylists take what they’ve learned and work into their own styling for customers at their special events.”

Leanne at Saks South Shields: “An absolute honour to work with Luke. My fave looks? French waves and the up-dos. Already translating what I’ve learned into wedding looks back at the salon!”

Shannon at Saks Hexham says:”I was over the moon to be asked to go to Paris for the second time! Always learn so much from Luke, and I love using new tools and products. It’s a totally different way of doing hair to on the shop floor. The looks were elegant and timeless, but a LOT of styling went into it.

“Every look was a team effort, with two or three stylists working on each model. A fab groups of Saks people there too, always good to catch up with everyone!”

Alex at Saks Northallerton: “Agree! The experience was amazing, I learnt so much. And Luke’s techniques though! I’ve also worked on Graduate Fashion Week 2024 with Saks Artist Clare Murphy – amazing again.

“I want to gain more experience session styling for sure. And this time our apprentice Niamh came along for her first show. She now has the backstage bug too!”
