Our stylists are up-to-date with cutting, styling and colour techniques from Katie and Saks Art Team, and we also receive training from global hair brand L’Oreal Professionnel.

KATIE ADAMSON
SALON OWNER
Katy has been at the helm of Saks Hair in Northallerton, along with her team, since 2014. As well as running her own salon, Katy was a Saks Artist for 15 years, delivering hair training for Saks salons nationwide and helping to create stunning hair campaign looks platformed up and down the country. She loves owning a Saks salon, which was the next natural step for her, as well as nurturing a creative team that she enjoys watching go from strength to strength.

FRONT OF HOUSE
Shay has been the welcoming face of our Northallerton salon since 2014 and wouldn’t dream of being anywhere else. Says it’s a gorgeous place to walk into: relaxing, professional and we’re all passionate about clients. The bond with Katy and the team is strong, with support that reaches from work to home life. A true style guru, Shay stars in regular outfit-of-the-day posts on our socials, always looking at new colour palettes and silhouettes. Lorna Luxe would be her dream client and tops her list of style icons. Home life is the best, with Grace, Andrew and doggy Luna. Loves trips to LA to see friends. Says people are always surprised when she tells them she’s lost eight stone! Reformer Pilates? Five times a week.
LLOYD
PRINCIPAL STYLIST
Lloyd is a talented hairdresser and barber, specializing in precision cuts, skin fades, balayage and vivid colouring. Lloyd’s proud to be one of our Northallerton hairdressers and is all about paying great attention to detail. He loves his colour work, particularly highlighting with the balayage hand-painting technique to show off his creativity. Lloyd is also an expect with all things Kérastase. Style icon? Jack Mead. A highlight in Lloyd’s time with Saks is definitely winning salon of the year, on stage in front of the Saks network. He loves working at Saks because, “My Mum worked for Saks, it’s always been the best hair brand.”

ALICE
PRINCIPAL STYLIST
Alice is our Principal Stylist - currently on maternity leave. Loves giving her customers a blonde refresh, especially with highlights. Alice’s favourite part of working at Saks is meeting lots of new people and making sure each customer leaves happy. She also loves the “community and amazing training!” Alice thinks Jamie Genevieve is an absolute icon when it comes to styling and incredible hair. In her spare time Alice enjoys CrossFit and running around with her two kids. Amazing fact about Alice? “I’ve raised £2285 for Anthony Nolan, a charity that helped save my daughter’s life!”

SENIOR TYLIST
Our talented stylist, Alex, thrives when transforming her clients and seeing the happiness on their faces when they achieve their dream hair. She’s passionate about creativity and loves watching her vision come to life. Alex gets her inspiration from hair icons like Molly Mae and Grace Jackson. One of her standout Saks moments was attending Graduate Fashion Week in London. The first thing Alex does when she has some me time? Her first instinct is always to hop on a flight. Alex loves Saks because "we're all best friends here, supporting each other through everything."

SOPHIA
STYLIST
Sophia's superpower is blonding – highlights, balayage and especially those big transformations. Big on hair health too, loving that clients are clued up on our brands like K18. She's also the queen of the salon socials, capturing different angles of cuts, colours and styles on reels. Margot Robbie would be her celeb in the chair, for those incredible blonde shades over the years. Sophia's proudest Saks moment was passing her Level 3 apprenticeship with two distinctions, actually screaming down the phone when her Kleek educator Tegan delivered the results. A total night owl with a Michael Jackson playlist, her dream day off is chilling in the garden, drink in hand, dreaming of her next hot beach holiday – KOS was special. Oh, and surprisingly flexible (body, not hours).

Erin
STYLIST
Blonding is Erin’s fave colour technique, and she loves a short haircut, really getting into personalising it to suit each client. All for fresh highlights finished with a bouncy blow-dry. Molly-Mae or Olivia Attwood would get the best down-to-earth girly chat if they ever landed in her chair. The team is what Erin rates most about our Northallerton salon: a family vibe where everyone bounces off each other and clients join in too. Finishing her qualifications tops her highlights so far, and as for a career outside hair… there are no alternatives. Up with the lark and struggling past 10pm, she recharges at the gym (even when she can’t be bothered) or with a coffee and a walk. Time off means the Lakes or the Cotswolds. And for someone who loves a crime drama, she’s surprisingly squeamish!

NIAMH
APPRENTICE
Niamh is an apprentice hairdresser at our Northallerton salon flying with all the balayage techniques, and old money blondes are the trend she’s loving. Blake Lively would be her celeb in the chair, for that gorgeous head of layered hair. The friendship in the salon family is what Niamh loves most about the job, and the best thing she’s done so far is Tamara Ralph Paris Fashion Week show. If she wasn’t in hair, she’d be a fashion designer or an architect. A good watch is Love Island or At Home with the Furys, and a dream day off is a big breakfast and a chill. Best mood booster is watching Sophia dance to Michael Jackson. Greece is her go-to getaway. Oh, and her mum used to dress her and her brothers in matchy stripes, so these days Niamh avoids them at all costs.

APPRENTICE
Emily loves learning cuts, especially short ones, but she’s also all for a bouncy, big-volume blow-dry, Sabrina Carpenter style. Lady Gaga is the dream booking, for a great chat and some out-there looks. The amazing team makes our Northallerton salon special for Emily, and everything we do, from Shay’s outfits of the day to team nights out. Career progression is her proudest achievement, and if she wasn’t in hairdressing, she’d be a nurse. An early riser who runs before the world gets busy, and a great watch is The Gentlemen. Days off are at the seaside with her dog Charlie and a shopping spree, and Rome and New York at Christmas are on the travel list. The big goal? Running the Great North Run TEN times.
