Our Morpeth hairdressers are a fab bunch, and as we’re part of the Saks brand, our team get the best professional training with our Saks Artists and L’Oréal, meaning that we’re always kept on our toes creatively. What’s not to love!

BARRIE
SALON OWNER
Barrie originally started his hairdressing career at Saks in Newcastle, where he progressed from stylist to management within two years. Barrie then opened our salon in Morpeth over 30 years ago, and he’s taken the team from strength to strength - winning awards including the coveted Saks Salon of the Year, as well as being finalists in L’Oréal Professionnel’s Colour Trophy Awards, to mention just a few. Barrie continues to be a working manager on the salon floor and loves interacting with customers too.
LOUISE
PRINCIPAL STYLIST
As well as being our salon co-owner, Louise has worked for Saks for many years. In that time, she’s passed numerous professional cutting courses as well as achieving lots of Saks qualifications and colour diplomas. She’s achieved level 3 customer care and is a qualified salon trainer too. Louise works part time on the salon floor whilst running the business, alongside salon owner, Barrie. She has a passion for fashion, and loves spending time with her family as often as she can.
ANDREA
PRINCIPAL STYLIST
Andrea was once our very first salon apprentice, all be it quite some time ago. Andrea is now an experienced and passionate Principal Stylist with many years’ experience in hairdressing. Having gained all qualification in cutting, colour and customer care, Andrea has also gained ghd training as well as a Kérastase massage diploma. Andrea loves all aspects of hairdressing and the camaraderie at our salon. We’re all one big family to Andrea. In her spare time, she loves the outdoors, and to travel all over the world, with Australia topping the list. She even loves the odd sky dive, as well as getting involved in local fund raising.
ASHLEIGH
PRINCIPAL STYLIST
Originally joining the team as a Saturday girl back in the day, with the ambition of staying at the salon full time - Ashleigh’s certainly achieved her aim through sheer hard work and determination. Now one of our Principal Stylists, achieving NVQ levels 1, 2 and 3 in record time. Ashleigh enjoys colour work best of all and has gone onto achieve many cutting and colour diplomas as well as gaining qualifications in scalp massage and from ghd. Her aim is to give 100% total customer satisfaction. In ger spare time, Ashleigh loves music, fashion, travelling (and her hunky partner, Josh!).
CLAIRE
PRINCIPAL STYLIST
Claire originally started her hairdressing career at college, then progressed to a full-time apprenticeship with Saks many years ago. She went on to gain numerous qualifications whilst working with us, including NVQ levels 1, 2 and 3 in hairdressing, as well as diplomas in L'Oréal colour keys and advanced colour keys, Kérastase training, and numerous cutting courses. She has a passion for learning all aspects of hair and loves getting hands-on. In her spare time, she thoroughly enjoys being a mum to her daughter, who she just adores.
GRACE
APPRENCTICE
Previously gaining hair and barbering experience before joining our team at Saks, Grace is currently working towards her hairdressing NVQs with Saks Apprenticeships, whilst working on the salon floor, and she just loves it. You’ll always see Grace in the salon ready to greet all of our customers with a great big smile. With her fantastic character, our team and customers just love Grace. When you’re in, be sure to say hi, and she’ll brighten your day and make you feel extra special.
