Simon is proud to manage a fabulous team of expert and professional stylists! He doesn’t always play a hands-on role on the salon floor but when he does it’s a first class service every time! ANDREW
SALON DIRECTOR
Andrew joined Saks immediately after leaving school in Richmond twenty years ago and has been with the Barnard Castle salon for the past nineteen years. He’s been involved in national competitions including being a regional finalist for the L’Oréal Colour Trophy. Andrew received special recognition for his longstanding service at the Saks Awards 2015…Andrew says: “I enjoy what I do so it was really nice and unexpected to be recognised. As a big company you are not sure everyone sees what you are doing.”
JESS
SALON DIRECTOR
Jess has been at Saks Barnard Castle for nine years. Having started as a Saturday girl, Miss Hesp worked her way up from apprentice, passing all NVQ levels and a barbering course, before progressing to become a senior stylist. Jess was selected as one of ten stylists nationwide to be part of Saks UK's A-Team last year. During the year-long programme Miss Hesp has been mentored by Saks Art Team where she learnt new and creative skills such as mood-boarding and how to put together collections. On top of her busy salon schedule you’ll find Jess styling backstage at fab events such as Clothes Show, BRITs, London Fashion Week and more! Jess says “Being part of the Saks Art Team, filming Saks Signature Colours was such a privilege and brilliant experience!”
SARAH
PRINCIPAL STYLIST
Sarah joined Saks as an apprentice and received full Saks training before taking a few years out as a a full-time mum. Six years ago Sarah decided to reignite her passion for hairdressing and we’re thrilled to have her back on the salon floor! Simon says: “Sarah is a great all-rounder and loved by many longstanding customers and colleagues.”
ANN-ELISE
PRINCIPAL STYLIST
Our fabulous Ann-Elise loves nothing more than to progress and develop her skills, working with our lovely customers and team. She’s styled hair at London’s Graduate Fashion Week and loves all things creative, saying “It was my love for art that got me into Saks to begin with. I just love hairdressing”. Ann-Elise has a special talent for drawing and loves creating new artwork in her spare time. And of course, spending time with her friends socialising.
ELLA
HAIR APPRENTICE
Ella joined our team in the summer of 2022 and she is already a great addition to the team. Ella says "Working with the team at Saks is fantastic and I love learning whilst I work in the salon. I'm looking forward to learning all about colouring, especially highlighting."
SASHA
SENIOR SALON ASSISTANT
Sasha is our senior salon assistant, qualified to level 2 in hairdressing. Keeping the salon running smoothly and up to standard whilst getting to assist the stylists with blowdrys and colours is what Sasha does best. She’s passionate about fashion and loves all things hair.
