Saks4Eve Status Uploading

We say we’re here for your hair, beauty and wellbeing. And we sure are. Saks4Eve goes SPECIAL in the year we celebrate 50 years of Saks as we’ve now raised £240,000 for The Eve Appeal with more transferring as we speak. Huge thanks to our salon teams, customers, families and friends. We’re officially on our count up to £250k!

Our chosen charity partner is the UK’s leading gynaecological cancer charity. They aim to prevent gynae cancers from developing in the first place, but if they do develop, they want to make sure they’re detected early so more people survive their diagnosis. And we do what we can to help.

Saks4Eve Salutes this time for…

OUR FUNDRAISING SALON OF THE YEAR

Saks Guisborough were named Fundraising Salon of the Year at Saks Awards 2025 for raising £4,227.50 in one year alone. Hair salon owner Sarah says: “We Did It! Team effort from day one, fuelled by passion, CAKE, a touch of CHAOS, and incredible support from our CLIENTS. From Alice and me walking 50k in a day to another epic cake bake to our popular raffle, every penny counts. And there’s also Maddie’s skydive, raising £2k all on her own!

“Our clients ask us what’s next and their encouragement and big-heartedness amazes us. The work The Eve Appeal does matter deeply to us all of us. We talk woman to woman every day – listening to stories, supporting conversations around women’s health, and raising awareness of gynae cancers.”

IZZY’S HEAD SHAVE

Graduate stylist Izzy created quite the buzz at Saks Sedbury Hall after announcing that she wanted to shave off her hair in the name of Saks4Eve. Izzy: “I’ve always admired people who shave their hair, whatever the reason. So, I wanted to do just that and look back feeling content that I’d contributed. The day seemed a long time coming, and I kept planning my future funky hairstyles whilst I was waiting to do it.

“There was a sudden wave of nerves beforehand, but our salon owner, Anna, came to the rescue with encouragement, and I knew I had nothing to worry about, bringing back the buzz about the buzz! I’m proud of the outcome and feel overwhelmed by the support.”

We are loving following this hair journey already.

SAKS4EVE SKYDIVERS

Appreciation for our apprentices Olivia and Magan at Saks Chester Le Street and graduate stylist Maddie at Saks Guisborough for taking very deep dives in the name of our cause. Olivia says: “I felt like it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I would do it again in a heartbeat!”

Maddie: “I wanted to do something big to help raise as much as I could. It made me feel alive, powerful, proud and I loved it. TBF if I could do it again I 100% would! A fun experience and very proud moment.”

**OK Our Three… how’s about organising a VERY BIG Saks4Eve Skydive next?**

LEANNE’S NORTH SEA DIP

Leanne’s words in particular resonate: “I want to share my story and explain why raising awareness and funds for The Eve Appeal is so important to me. In 2019, my world turned upside down when I lost my baby girl, Georgie, at 25 weeks. It was only after extensive testing that the reasons why became clear: I had adenomyosis and endometriosis.

“This led to years of tests and treatment including laparoscopy surgery to assess the severity of my condition; treatment every two weeks to close off my ovaries, which was both mentally and physically traumatic, and then a total hysterectomy (with ovary preservation because of my age) in 2023.

“If there had been more awareness and tests when I was younger, I believe I wouldn’t have lost my baby girl. It’s taken me a long time to get to this stage and I hope that doing something so positive, in memory of Georgie, will mean fewer women will have to go through what I did.

So. My big challenge! If you know me, you‘ll know I can’t stand very cold water – even the thought of it. So that’s why I decided to overcome my fear by saying I’d take a proper dip in the North Sea. And on a very sunny and very chilly day in May I did it. No words to describe how it made me feel.”

LUCY’S LINCOLN 10K

Senior stylist Lucy at Saks Hair Newark: “I’ve never been a runner – I’m still not – but I decided to sign up for the 10k to push myself out my comfort zone to raise funds and to not take my health and fitness for granted when other women are struggling. The salon team are always thinking of new ways to raise money.

“Our salon owner Zoe and our clients love and support us in raising money for such an important cause. A week before I nearly decided not to do it as I had injured my knees, I couldn’t run in the week before the race BUT having everyone talk about how amazing it was and believing in me made me do it.”

IN-SALON WALKATHONS

Sister salons Saks Bishop Auckland and Saks Tees Barrage put the miles in on one very fabulous Saks4Eve Saturday… hair, beauty and 8-hour walkathons, big raffles and cake.

Martin at Saks Tees Barrage – who’s been with Saks since 1975 – says: “We don’t just perform hair and beauty services at Saks. By supporting The Eve Appeal we’re investing in women’s health and futures. Our partnership enables us to give back to our community by contributing towards vital research and makes what we do for our clients more meaningful.”
