NICOLA AND PAULA DOING THE DO

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Brilliant Saks news right here! Join us as we salute our salon owners Nicola Hughes and Paula Wood for being named finalists in Hairdressers Journal’s annual British Hairdressing Business Awards after a particularly ‘intense judging process’ given the exceptional level of entries. And our dynamic duo – who run fabulous Saks salons in Chester and Knutsford respectively – are through for the second consecutive year.

FRANCHISEE OF THE YEAR FINALISTS

OK, this is a total testament to all the things that have to come together to ensure that our customers receive an all-round brilliant experience, every time.  HJ says: “The Franchisee of the Year award recognises top British business brains who run successful salons. Nicola and Paula impressed a host of industry judges with their business acumen, turnover,  brand building and marketing activities… as well as staff  development.”  All bases covered by our two.

Paula says: “SO exciting, especially after lockdown and all the uncertainty it brought. It’s great to be back in-salon, and now this. It’s definitely added a huge positive to this year.”

Back in the day Paula was a healthcare worker, and during lockdown she proudly returned to the NHS as a volunteer on care of the elderly wards at two local hospitals (more here) whilst still making time to file her BHBA entry.

Nicola continues: “Really glad I made time to enter despite lockdown disrupting everything. Getting through is a huge accolade. There’s fierce competition out there and it’s brilliant to be acknowledged amongst the best. Looking forward to celebrating at the BHBAs with Paula again!”

At one point we thought it may be virtual but the ceremony is currently ON. Huge congratulations to all of the other finalists – we’ve saved the date for Monday 25 January 2021 when the winners are revealed at the London Hilton on Park Lane!
