Mods and Rockers by Saks A-Team
After a year being nurtured by the Saks Art Team comes ‘Mods and Rockers’, the final collection from this year’s stylists chosen to take part in our prestigious SAKS A-TEAM programme.
SAKS A-TEAM initiative has become a must-have for our stylists wanting to unleash their creativity. After a rigorous interview procedure only a handful are selected who then get to down hair tools and head to the bright lights spending valuable time with our hair experts, the Saks Art Team.
Whilst exploring the history of hair, this year’s team immersed themselves in different locations including the V&A and Camden Market. They also honed session styling skills at shoots and shows including The Clothes Show, the BRITS and London Fashion Week.
Our Creative Director, Luke Pluckrose, who also heads up Saks Art Team, says: “The concept for this year’s final collection is ‘Mods and Rockers’, inspired by the campaign poster for British crime movie, Legend where Tom Hardy plays both Kray twins.
The brief was to create very different looks for each model, representing the rivalries of these two British heritage cultures.”
Luke continues: “A-TEAM is special. Every year we have an overwhelming response from Saks stylists wanting a place. Our Art Team members love the whole process: interviewing, research trips, taking our stylists to big events and seeing them work together exploring and creating the avant guarde. Well done A-TEAM 2015!”
