Saks Pamper Lounge

Reading Time: 4 minutes

We’re celebrating adding the wow-factor yet again Backstage at Fashion Theatre and at the hot destination that is now the Saks Pamper Lounge. This year The Clothes Show welcomed a new era where the line-up of brands, boutiques, celebs and inspirational stage features were more glittering than ever before and once again Saks people added hair and makeup magic in all-areas.

OFFICIAL HAIR AND MAKEUP PARTNER AT FASHION THEATRE

The Clothes Show 2015 was an excellent opportunity for newly appointed Saks Art Team members to join in. Our Creative Director Luke Pluckrose and longstanding Art Teamers Tom Berry (right hand man) and Katy Adamson (owner, Saks Hair Northallerton) were joined by James Maher (owner, Saks Kenilworth) and Shaun Stringfellow (senior stylist, Saks Hair Teesside) to create show-stopping hair-looks for models, dancers and celebs, assisted by stylists who jetted in from as far afield as Aberdeen and Exeter.

Luke says: “We’ve been the partner of choice for hair Backstage for four years now, and styling back-to-back shows over five days we have to be on the ball. This year we gave our stylists more of a challenge with our Hair Rings Show Look which also created a buzz on the Saks Pamper Lounge – a bit tricky to get the hang of, but of course they all rose to the occasion.

Luke continues: “It was great to get new Art Team members on board – strengthening our team means we’re able to meet increasing demand for our time, training and session-styling. Getting our creative stylists involved means we can call on more of them to assist too.”

MADE UP WITH SAKS BEAUTY

When Saks was asked to take care of makeup for the second year running, Hollie Simpson (new Saks Beauty Expert and owner of Saks Beauty Teesside), jumped at the chance. As second in command last year to fellow Beauty Expert Kirsty Jewson she knew she had big shoes to fill (or should that be Very High Heels?) creating looks and heading up the 12-strong makeup team.

Hollie says: “I was SO pleased to do this! I’m a huge fan of Makeup by Saks, love showing people what our experts can do and am now looking forward to session-styling with our Art Team at upcoming events.” Hollie was fully supported by fellow franchisee, Carly Skelton of Saks Scarborough.

Using mineral products kindly provided by Youngblood, Hollie and team created navy smoky eyes (also perfect for party season), luminous skin with an airbrushed look, subtle contouring and lips in nude shades.

Making the Saks Pamper Lounge tick was down to two special salon owners and their amazing salon teams. Michelle Shergill (Beauty Expert and owner Saks West Bridgford) and Donna Horton (owner, Saks Sutton Coldfield) were delighted to swap running two super-busy local salons and utilise their skills in the ultimate hair and beauty pop-up.

RAISING AWARENESS FOR WOMEN’S CANCERS

Saks has a two-year charity partnership with The Eve Appeal raising funds for gynaecological cancers. The Clothes Show was perfect for raising awareness handing out leaflets to a younger audience and also encouraging #Saks4Eve donations.

Faces including Gemma Cairney and Joey Essex showed massive support for our partnership, helping us head towards of goal of smashing our £100,000 fundraising target in 2016.
