‘Go Red’ they said

Reading Time: 2 minutes

A very big THANK YOUUUUU to the Saks fundraising faces behind these masks! September is Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month and every year we get involved with The Eve Appeal‘s activities to raise funds and awareness for the five women-only cancers of the cervix, ovaries, vagina, vulva and womb. And it was great that, what seems like only five minutes after reopening, some of our salons were able to make time to support our cause – a big Saks4Eve high five going out to Saks Chester, Saks Kings Hill, Saks Newark and Saks West Bridgford for choosing to Go Red for the day.

Saks Kings Hill Go Red for Eve

Our brilliant customers at Saks Kings Hill

Michelle Shergill, our salon owner at Saks West Bridgford, says: “It is important to us that now more than ever –  with everything else that is going on in the world – that we a) continue to talk about gynaecological cancers and b)  make sure we go get tested if anything seems wrong. From abnormal bleeding, to pain during sex and changes in discharge, for all the mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, girlfriends, and colleagues out there – make sure you spread the word.

FUNDRAISING PASSES ANOTHER TARGET

Even better, as we raised some pennies too, we’re thrilled to advise that our Saks4Eve fundraising now stands at over £180,000. We’ve pledged to raise £250,000 and – despite Covid-19 – we’ll do just that.

FANCY GETTING INVOLVED?

Less well publicised than breast cancer, gynaecological cancers kill 21 women a day in the UK and we’re determined to help change this. Why not chat to your faves next time you’re in to find out what’s happening next. And if you’re new to Saks, you can find your nearest salon – we look forward to welcoming you in.
