BHBA Hall of Fame for Claire D
We’re proud of the talented and totally gorgeous Claire Denyer every day. The icing on the cake for our owner of Saks Hair & Beauty Kings Hill was being inducted into the Hall of Fame at the British Hairdressing Business Awards in September 2019.
HAIRDRESSERS KNOW IT
This is one of the highest accolades in our industry and it’s awarded only to those who win in the same category three (yes THREE) times. Claire’s been named Franchisee of the Year that many times, proving that hard graft so pays off. And if you know Claire, you’ll know that this is very well deserved.
Owns two hugely successful businesses – multi award-winning Saks Kings Hill and Family Dog Services with husband John. Claire also lives with Lupus which is a systemic autoimmune disease that occurs when your body’s immune system attacks the tissues and organs. Often floored by chronic pain, Claire simply won’t be defined by it, coming back strong. And with a smile, every time.
Claire says: “Standing on stage accepting the award was like having a major flashback of everything I’ve achieved to reach that moment. I hadn’t wanted my own salon until I joined Saks in 2002! I was a passionate and creative hairstylist who specialised in colour, but, being a business owner wasn’t on my radar.
“Opening Saks Kings Hill was a dream come true. I had no idea on that day that the salon would undergo three transformations and triple in size by its 10th year or become a multi award-winning salon. Now 12.5 years later the salon’s gone through many changes, amazing highs and some terribly sad lows. Being a business owner is far from easy, damn, it’s not for everyone. BUT being a franchisee and proud Saks salon owner brings me me so many opportunities I would not change it for the world.
“I have an amazing team, an incredibly supportive husband and my Saks family. I consider myself to be very lucky!”
TEAM TELLS ALL
Nikala Halfacre, manager at Saks Kings Hill, says: “For 13 years I’ve been lucky enough to work for and be trained by the legend that is Claire Denyer. Even now she still guides me and helps me be the best manager I can be.
“Want some Claire facts? She’s tiny – actually tiny! She drinks tea like water. Recently we ran out of tea bags at the salon and the girls tell me they saw a new side to CD! She is also the only person I have ever met that can blend in with a room full of tipsy people, and everyone assume she has been drinking all night because she is always the life and soul.”
Huge congrats Claire. We. Love. Your. Bones.
PS and best we get the teabags in. xx
