Back to busy – own it with Saks

Reading Time: 3 minutes

As we tentatively navigate the rest of 2020 – hopefully staying back at work, school, eating out, weekends away at a faster pace in general; all whilst following relevant rules of course, please make time for you… own it. A visit to the hair chair or rebooting a brilliant beauty ritual can put a pep in your step. We’re 100% rocking safety with our strict hygiene protocols by the way. Everything’s in place so you can enjoy being back in.

We caught up with Saks Artists and Beauty Squad for their highlights and tips as the nights draw in.

TIME FOR A RESTYLE?

Clare Murphy says “Reclaim your hair game with a restyle. Did you discover something you like about your hair whilst you were on pause or have you made definite decisions about the look you want from now on? Chat to your stylist. They’ll give you the best advice on how to achieve it – and if it will work for you.”

FACE FRAMING

Sarah Clarke-Lees says “Ahh colour! Blonder. Brighter. Lighter. And I’m loving seeing brunettes  joining in with face-framing caramel tones. Very current. Very flattering. It’s great to see curls and natural movement after months of top knots, plaits and ponies. Your stylist knows how strategic layering can work to achieve a great shape and enhance the bounce. Go extra with L’Oreal Professionnel’s Spiral Queen. And their Root Lift always adds oomph.”

NOURISHING SHOT ANYONE?

Hair experts in every salon. We caught up with principal stylist Jade at Saks Hair Northallerton; L’Oréal Colour Expert, nurtured by Saks Artists under our Saks A-Team training programme and 100% obsessed with beautiful hair. Jade says “Ok, in autumn my go-to treatment is Kerastase Fusio-Dose, a flexible system that lets us prescribe the best treatment for you. They last several washes and offer multiple combinations for a custom-designed treatment to instantly and lastingly transform your hair.”

AND ON BEAUTY

Katie and Hollie chat on the importance of getting back to facials and a strong brow game during mask-wearing times.

FACE TIME

On keeping skin in tiptop condition despite the PPE, Hollie Simpson of Saks Beauty Teesside, says “This is where the double cleanse works wonders! Wash your face thoroughly with two cleansers. … The first is usually oil-based. This is followed up by a water-based one. I love products with AHAs or salicylic acid such as Skeyndor’s Clear Balance or Purity Clean from CosMedix. It’s essential that you use disposable masks or a freshly laundered one every single day.”

Hollie continues: “Our Cocoon & Repair Decleor facial nourishes the skin and boosts the circulation. Just one of many traditional and electro treatments from Cosmedix, Elemis, Decleor and Skeyndor that can make a real difference to most skin complaints. Book a complimentary skin assessment and one of our expert therapists and we’ll prescribe something amazing to suit.”

WE SMILE WITH OUR EYES

Katie of Saks Beauty Halifax says “Facial expressions are hidden and lipsticks are best kept in the bag at the mo. So we’re seeing a big surge from those who’re new to the power of perfectly defined brows and it’s been a great opportunity for creating fuller shapes. From a good old wax, shape and tint to the full HD Brows service, it’s great seeing an array of  arches emerge!”
