Our Saks Woman of the Year is…
HUGE congrats to Paloma Faith for being named Saks Woman of the Year 2018! We asked you to celebrate sisterhood by voting for your fave from our shortlist of 12 fierce females – each of whom adds glam, grit, humour and pizzazz to every day.
And vote you did *ahem* in your thousands – thank you SO much everyone who got involved.
A moment please for all of our fierce finalists. Women that go beyond in fields of film, literature, music, sport, TV, business and as brilliant role models for girls of today. Game changers who embody traits that we love, admire and rock ourselves: talent, humour, courage, empathy, personal style and SASS.
There’s something about Paloma
So what makes Paloma special? So much to mention! A super talented singer/songwriter, applauded for her originality and chameleon-style, fusing retro with eclectic looks – the whole deal.
And about The Architect. Paloma’s fourth album debuted at number one and has sold over 400,000 so far. Paloma says it’s a departure from writing about love and the past, and instead features themes about the environment, empathy, revolution and kindness. Bravo Paloma, we love you for always making your own kinda music and singing your own kinda song.

Empathy – Tell someone they’ve done a great job especially if they don’t get the recognition they deserve.
Environment – Never throw away clothes – give them to charity/vintage stores for resale.
Kindness – Check in with someone that lives alone.

Saks Woman of the Year 2017
Paloma joins our very own Claire Denyer, salon owner of Saks Kings Hill. Claire received the accolade at our glitzy Saks Gathering event at the Hilton Metropole on Edgeware Road in February this year.
Why Claire? Where to start!
On presenting Claire with the award Janet King, Head of Saks Marketing, described Claire as: “Definitely inspirational, always full of fun, strong, beautiful inside and out, multi award-winning – a brilliant ambassador for Saks. Also someone who simply won’t let the chronic illness that is Lupus get in the way.”
A true Saks4Eve warrior too. Saks Kings HIll and customers have raised an ah-mazing £5,285.80 of the £136,226.19 that we’ve raised so far for our chosen charity partner, The Eve Appeal. Every penny goes towards aiding Eve’s research into gynaecological cancers.
SO well deserved. And not a dry eye in the house.
