Saks Barney at The Bowes
OH WHAT A NIGHT! The launch party at The Bowes Museum to celebrate its major fashion exhibition by Chris Moore – the king of catwalk photography – blew us all away.
About Chris Moore
Byker-born Moore’s been capturing iconic moments at legendary shows such as Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Dior, John Galliano, Yves Saint Laurent and more for SIX decades. And we were thrilled when Saks Barnard Castle were asked to provide hair looks for Northumbria University’s fash-forward show.
About Saks Barnard Castle
Simon Folkes, Saks Barnard Castle hair salon owner, says: “Because we’re practically next door to The Bowes Museum and we’ve wanted to work with the team again for years. As a result, being part of this prestigious event has exceeded all expectations. Very proud that we got to showcase our salon’s hair creativity.”
Over 200 iconic moments
This exhibition is the gift that keeps on giving. Over 200 iconic moments captured by Chris, a stunning selection of original catwalk outfits, lent by leading fashion houses, and a heritage timeline charting fashion since the 1970s. In the north east? GO SEE.
Saks Art Team on hand
In true Saks Fam style, team Barney was supported by Clare Murphy of Saks Art Team – a regular backstage at major London events shoots and shows. Saks stylists Alice, Izzy, Ria and Sy – creatives from this year’s Saks A-Team – also rocked up to lend a hand.
Jess Hesp, senior stylist, says: “As a Barney girl, The Bowes Museum is very special to me and being part of Chris’ special night makes me so proud to be Saks! We created simple hair looks to compliment the fabulous clothes. Sleek low ponies to low partings, ear-tucks and crimped hair for a big frizz effect!
Jess continues: “Working with Clare Murphy was brilliant! And having four A-Teamers on board made the day. They rocked up, took the brief and cracked on. It’s great when we all come together. Nothing like it!”
Saks UK Marketing team loved supporting our stylists and hobnobbing with Chris, Hilary Alexander and Giles Deacon too.
