The Creatives in Saks A-Team 2018

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Love salon-life – check. Fancy pushing your boundaries creatively – CHECK. The annual training programme put on by Saks Art Team is a brilliant opportunity for our stylists to do just that.

Bagging a place goes a bit like this. Chat to your salon owner. Apply for a place. Do the prep. Attend interview. Do a timed hair demonstration and present mood boards on a given topic.

Await the “You’re In” letter. Join other Saks stylists from around the UK heading out of town to spend time being mentored by Saks Art Team exploring avant-garde hair. YES!

BRAVO TO SAKS A-TEAM 2018…

Tom Snowdon – Saks Middlesbrough
Sy Boucher – Saks Bishop Auckland
Isabelle Brittain – Saks Doncaster
Natalie Tasker – Saks Lytham
Alice Fleming – Saks Northallerton
Ria McCabe – Saks West Bridgford
Sammie Bayliss – Saks Kings Hill
Estelle Smith – Saks Knutsford
Lee Carnegie – Saks Aberdeen Union Square

Luke Pluckrose, Creative Director, says: “Every year we do something different. This time our A-Team sessions are a roller coster ride taking in creative colour, session styling, mood boarding, collaborating with stylists and MUAs, mood boarding, wig-making and putting on a photo shoot.”

You say colour, we say PLAY.

Sarah Clarke-Lees of Saks Art Team continues: “I was an A-Teamer back in 2014 and it was the start of my journey towards joining Saks Art Team! I was SO pleased to host our first session for 2018 – and of course I chose unconventional colour! We looked at applying colour via tie-dying, spray painting, Banksy-esq stencils and Jackson Pollock paint flicks!”

Sarah concludes: “One of the things A-Team gave me was the opportunity to meet stylists from our other salons and share ideas. It’s great to see our stylists doing the same. I made a couple of friends for life as well – win-win!”
