Say ‘Hello’ to our amazing team of Saks York hairdressers. As soon as you step foot off the cobbled streets of York and into our luxurious salon you will be greeted with a friendly atmosphere and professionalism in which we pride ourselves on.
We are all expertly trained which means you will certainly be in safe hands.
ASHLEY
SALON OWNER & DIRECTOR
Our main man and salon owner. Ashley’s been in the industry for 35 years and at the helm of our York salon for over 30. He loves interaction with customers and getting creative with curly hair. His speciality? Razor cutting. Ashley says “I’m really proud of my team. We have a great bond”. And in his spare time, as well as having three children and being very sporty, Ashley recently introduced a new addition to his household, a puppy called Wilson. Not to mention his most recent hobby, carpentry, but don’t worry – he won’t quit his day job!
HOLLY
SENIOR PRINCIPAL & COLOUR SPECIALIST
Holly has been with us for as long as we can remember, and is our salon manager as well as a senior principal stylist. Having qualified as a L'Oreal colour expert in 2017, she loves all aspects of hairdressing, especially restyles. She says “Seeing customers’ faces when they leave is very rewarding, as a restyle can totally change someone”. She also loves trends such as balayage as she can be more creative. Holly has two spaniels and loves to find new walking routes for them to burn off their energy. Oh, and she also love a good crime/thriller film of an evening.
ROBYN
PRINCIPAL STYLIST
Robyn has been at the salon since 2013 and is a L’Oreal colour expert. She loves the creativity of colouring, mainly highlighting blonde hair and seeing the many gorgeous tones she achieves. She says “My favourite part of hairdressing is making customers feel fabulous, and when they leave and seeing smiles on their face”. Her hobbies include reading - especially romcoms and recently classics like Little Women. She’s also a huge fan of Harry Potter and loves a good crime documentary.
LOUISE
SENIOR STYLIST
Louise is our fabulous senior stylist. Possibly a familiar face to our clients, she’s previously worked her magic in the salon and has recently returned part time. Louise has over 25 years’ experience in all hair services and amongst her many talents, specialises in men’s hair. Great customer service is a given with Louise, as it is with all of our team, topped off with her big bubbly character.
DARCEY
HAIR APPRENTICE
Darcey loves learning all aspects of hairdressing, particularly colour. She has a passion for people and enjoys being pushed out of her comfort zone. Whilst not in the salon, Darcey spends time with her family and dog, Wilson. Favourite flicks? Sex And The City and Pretty Woman. Her favourite read is Vogue as she’s obsessed with all things fashion. Fav music? R&B, funk and soul music.
JESS
HAIR APPRENTICE
Jess is our hair apprentice who’s looking forward to learning all that comes with the world of hair, particularly different highlighting techniques. She’s thoroughly enjoying trying out new styles in her training sessions and being in the salon and learning with the team, as well as attending to our fabulous customers. In her spare time, Jess enjoys meeting with friends and spending time with family.
EMMA
HAIR APPRENTICE
Emma is our fabulous hair apprentice who loves all things colour. She’s really looking forward to learning more techniques throughout her hair training with Saks and is very happy to be in the salon with our team and customers whilst she learns. When she’s not in the salon, Emma is very outdoorsy and enjoys horse riding at her local stables and being active at the gym. And did you know, she’s also a keen drawer and loves to paint. There’s no end to her talents we say!
SCARLETT
SALON ASSISTANT
Scarlett thoroughly enjoys helping out in the salon on weekends and during school holidays. She loves to attend to all our customers and helping our team throughout the salon. In her spare time, you’ll find Scarlett hanging out with friends or at the climbing wall with her brother.
