Anna has owned the franchise at Scotch Corner now for nearly 3 decades. Anna is Saks through and through starting her career at Saks Northallerton at only 17 has progressed from trainee, to stylist then to Saks art team and onto management. Years in and Anna loves nothing more than to glam up her clients and still spends most of her week working on the salon floor whilst managing the salon and being a Mummy to her daughter, Eva. Anna says: "I have a fantastic team of strong, creative girls dedicated to making our clients feel special and look amazing."
HAIR SALON MANAGER
Charlotte started her career with Anna at our Scotch Corner salon at 18 years old after completing her A levels at Richmond School, and has worked for Saks for many years. Charlotte has progressed her way through the ranks to salon manager before taking some time out to have her two children Oliver and Amelia. Charlotte loves salon life and currently juggles work and family life. You can see Charlotte in the salon on a Wednesday or Friday, where she looks forward to a good gossip whilst getting creative with her customers. Before having a family Charlotte gained the L'Oreal Colour Degree and is a specialist in all things colour she has also been working on the Saks management programme. Charlotte has a keen interest in fashion and loves to know everything about up and coming trends after studying fashion as part of her textiles a level. Three words to sum up Charlotte: friendly, ambitious, expert.
Sue began her beauty career travelling the world offering beauty services on exclusive cruise liners whilst experiencing many different cultures. Sue opened the first ever Saks beauty franchise over two decades ago at Scotch Corner. Sue has many years’ experience of working as a beauty therapist and also qualified as a hairdresser more recently. She ran Saks Beauty at Scotch Corner for thirteen years before deciding to step back from the business to raise her two children Oliver and Grace. Sue enjoys all aspects of beauty but above all loves to make her clients feel relaxed. Sue has qualifications in reflexology, hot stone massage, Saks skin specialist, Caci and DECLEOR. When Sue isn't in the salon she loves family time most of all but is also a social butterfly and lives life to the full! Sue is also taking on the challenge of running the great north run this September to raise money for the Eve appeal along with three other team members. Three words to sum up Sue: genuine, expert and fun.
HAIR SALON DIRECTOR
Laura fast-tracked her way with Saks academies through her Hairdressing NVQ Level 2 and joined the team at Scotch Corner to gain her NVQ Level 3 qualification. Laura is a Yorkshire lass through and through and after completing her A levels decided university life wasn’t for her! Laura quickly worked her way up from junior stylist to stylist then all the way up to director level stylist in a super short space of time since the salon moved to Sedbury Hall in 2012. You’ve got to be quick to get an appointment with the super busy Laura. Laura also trains all of the juniors in the salon and has also gained NVQ qualifications as a Team Leader and in Management. When she’s not in the salon she loves walking in the Dales, going to the cinema and keeping fit ...not forgetting her hectic social calendar! Laura loves all things hair but especially loves cutting and getting creative with shapes and technical haircuts. Three words to sum up Laura: perfectionist, creative, bubbly.
Katie joined the team a few years ago and began training towards her NVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing. Katie qualified as a stylist in 2016 and has been working at the salon ever since. Katie is also NVQ qualified in Customer Service and Team Leadership and has completed the L'Oreal Specialist course. Katie loves to be organised and applies this to every aspect of her work and home life. When Katie isn't glamming up her customers, she likes to roll her sleeves up and gets stuck into life on the farm where she lives with her husband. Her favourite time of year is lambing season where she likes nothing more than to become surrogate mother to lots of baby lambs. Katie is also on the #SAKS4EVE Great North Run team and will be running along with five of the team this September. Three words to describe Katie: professional, kind, efficient.
SENIOR STYLIST AND BEAUTY THERAPIST
Emma joined the team a few years ago. During that short time she's qualified in both NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 in Hairdressing and is currently working on her Level 3 in Beauty. Emma really loves playing with different tones of colour. Emma was on our L'Oreal Colour Trophy team and helped style and colour the salon model. Emma also enjoys getting creative with nails and especially enjoys doing gel nails. Emma enjoys doing yoga in her spare time and spending time with her family and nephew. Three words that describe Emma: friendly, caring, creative.
Toni is a perfectionist in everything she does from her famous relaxing scalp massages to tentatively looking after our clients. Having completed her level 2 and 3 in Hairdressing and Barbering, Toni’s also been a finalist in the Avant-Guarde Image Award, and loves getting creative, and making her clients feel amazing. She’s caring, thoughtful and is a key member of the team.
Emma began her beauty career straight from school at 16 years old. Emma qualified in NVQ Level 2 and 3 by the age of 18 then joined the Saks team at Scotch Corner at 19 years old working for Sue. Emma worked at Scotch Corner for years and during that time had two children - Jamie and Izzy. Emma loves all things beauty but especially likes performing results driven treatments such as Caci facial. Emma also specializes in hot wax, hot stones massage, massage and brows and lashes. When Emma isn't beautifying the ladies of Richmond and Darlington she loves spending time with her family and friends and dog walking. Three words to describe Emma: expert, professional, friendly.
