Special from Nikki at Saks Chester
We just have to share SPECIAL news of a fabulous fundraising feat from salon owner Nikki Hughes at our Saks Chester hair salon at 59 Watergate Street.
Nikki got to thinking how she could make Saks Chester’s fundraising to fight women’s cancers with The Eve Appeal super-special. She was after something that would push her boundaries (everyone knows she LOVES a challenge) that customers could get involved in… whilst being the talk of the town too. That’ll be a 24 hour hairdressing challenge then!
Customers were quick to book in and as the local newspapers picked up on the story, shouting about the event taking place 15th to 16th August new customers also got in touch, with friends and family saying HELL-YES too.
The time when much quicker than expected for Nikki. There was a great buzz about the salon… even in the middle of the night. Enthusiasm was infectious with everyone getting into the spirit of things and Nikki didn’t even notice time passing.
EVIDENCE OF SPECIAL?
Our 2.15 am customer was booked in for half head highlights but during consultation – yup, Nicola kept to our mantra that consultation is key right through the night – it became evident that a full head of highlights and toner were required so Nikki did what she does best and worked the diary to ensure our customer got the best experience.
Our last customer had seen the event in the news and just had to show support. So, leaving her family in bed she came in at 5am to a salon she’s never been in, for a haircut from a hairdresser that had been awake for 24 hours who she’d never met before! Err Nikki we’re thinking your fab rep goes before you in Chester!
Nikki says: “I’ve been a Saks salon owner since 2006 and think the link with The Eve Appeal is perfect for our brand. We’re all about making women feel special; it’s at the heart of everything we do. Getting the opportunity to raise awareness AND raise funds for ground-breaking research at our hair stations.. I had to be involved, there’s no way I could miss out on supporting this worthwhile cause.
Nikki continues: “The response we had to our crazy challenge has surpassed our expectations. Everyone got into the spirit of things and to raise over £1,200 was the icing on the case. I’ve realised it’s still ALL about customers for me – giving them a great experience, gorgeous hair and making sure they leave Saks happy.”
