Announcing exciting new plans for our Saks Art Team for 2016 and beyond! Renowned for adding the wow factor flying the flag for Saks across the globe, our Art Team delivers the VERY BEST education and also works hair magic at shoots, shows and events coordinated from our London base at Long Lane, Smithfield.
Existing team members Luke Pluckrose, Tom Berry and Katy Adamson are respected industry renowned educators who also regularly travel the world teaching Saks’ philosophies and techniques.
Luke Pluckrose, newly appointed Creative Director and Head of Saks Art Team, says: “To strengthen our position we’ve handpicked the best creatives in our UK salons who’re keen on becoming ambassadors for Saks at big events and also teaching our network of stylists and others too. I’m pleased to officially welcome Paul Calladine, James Maher, Clare Murphy and Shaun Stringfellow to the team. It’s a really exciting time for us. Watch this space.”

SAY HELLO TO THE NEW SAKS ART TEAM:
LUKE PLUCKROSE, CREATIVE DIRECTOR, Luke heads up the Saks Art Team, creates Saks’ hair collections and runs the A-TEAM; our year-long programme for Saks stylists to develop creativity. A superb teacher, Luke enjoys sharing his knowledge with those eager to develop skills and is at home teaching at intimate seminars and large audiences at home and abroad. Well-versed in the needs of the session stylist, Luke is called on at LFW, the BRITS, MOBOs and countless consumer fashion events, heading up team of Saks stylists backstage at The Clothes Show for three consecutive years.

KATY ADAMSON – Saks Art Team member for 12 years and owner of Saks Hair Northallerton. With over 25 years’ experience Katy puts vast knowledge to good work helping create Saks collections, implementing Simply Saks: The Knowledge training and taking part in events that showcase Saks’ creativity. Katy says: “I love being part of the Saks Art Team, we have regular brainstorming sessions, firing out concepts, playing with them and critiquing each other which is hugely productive. I love empowering Saks stylists with knowledge to take them to another level.”

PAUL CALLADINE – owner of Saks Doncaster. A highly creative individual Paul’s been in the hairdressing industry for 14 years and was a L’Oreal Colour Trophy winner in 2013. Paul also won Saks Image Award 2013 and been featured in Vogue UK and more. Already a regular backstage he’s also represented us teaching what makes Saks special overseas.
JAMES MAHER – owner of Saks Kenilworth. Having forged a career with other well known hair brands, James says: “I chose Saks as we believe in beautiful hair. We create looks that are genuinely wearable. We’re not pretentious and our salons are welcoming and friendly. I’m looking forward to pushing my boundaries creatively with Saks Art Team.” Previously: Stylist on Britain’s Next Top Model and X Factor, LFW… photoshoots for Vogue, Tatler, Elle UK, styled celebs such as Sophie Dahl, Liz Hurley, Kelly Brook and more.

CLARE MURPHY – educator at Saks Training London. No stranger to Saks Art Team, Clare’s been educating for over 15 years whilst also session styling at an array of big events and TV. Claire says: “Having worked alongside Luke and Tom for years delivering education I’m over the moon to join the Art Team. It’s the natural progression for me – a great honour and I’m also looking forward to representing Saks creatively.”
SHAUN STRINGFELLOW – senior stylist at Saks Middlesbrough. Starting his career at Saks 10 years ago Shaun’s now a Kerastase Ambassador. Shaun says: “With A-TEAM 2014 I was backstage at LFW and the BRITS, created the A-TEAM 2014 hair collection from mood boards to photoshoot. At 2014’s Clothes Show I styled models and celebs. I love being a Saks stylist and being part of Art Team takes my career to another level.”

Saks Durham owner Dean Jackson continues to providing amazing support to Saks Art Team heading out to the bright lights at the drop of a hat, juggling shoots and shows with hectic salon life. Great fun and a firm fave with our Saks stylists it’s great to have him around too.
