Fashion in Motion at The V&A
Wait, what? When Harris Reed presents highlights from his collection at the Fashion in Motion event at the V&A we’re there. And even better when our creative director Luke Pluckrose was asked by L’Oréal Professionnel to head up the backstage hair team. And – of course – Luke fielded a strong creative team of Saks Artists and creative faces from our salons too.
Particularly honoured about playing our part here as Harris Reed strives for a vision of gender fluidity and inclusivity and says fashion has a huge role to play in pushing the world to a more expressive and accepting place. The show included pieces exploring themes of performance, opulence and self-expression. Yes. To. This.
Harris graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2020 and has shown his collection at the first gender neutral London Fashion Week and was awarded Breakthrough Designer. He also collaborates with performers such as Harry Styles, Queen Adele and Iman. The show included pieces exploring themes of performance, opulence and self-expression with live vocals from Olly Alexander.
Luke says: “No one theme for hair here – individuality was key. We created a mixture of soft and fluffy looks, curls, slicked and pushed back styles and low ponytails. Excellent to work with Harris and contribute to his vision. There was a great vibe – cheers L’Oréal Professionnel!”

L’Oréal Professionnel has worked closely with the Fashion in Motion events since their inception. The V&A’s Fashion in Motion series brings catwalk shows by some of the greatest designers of our time to the V&A and makes catwalk couture accessible to a wider audience – us – modelling it against the beautiful backdrop of the Museum. Previously Luke and Saks rocked the Balenciaga show back in 2017.
