Being on Saks A-Team opens session styling doors, fact. Take Estelle, Izzy and Sammie for instance. Three of our creative stylists who bagged places this year. It’s the annual programme put on by Luke Pluckrose and Saks Art Team for our stylists wanting to get into session styling and explore their creative-side.

Within weeks the talented trio were backstage for L’Oreal at Graduate Fashion Week!

Being part of the L’Oréal Professionnel Portfolio session team is A Big Thing. 25 specially selected stylists from the UK’s top salons *AHEM THAT’LL BE SAKS* working non-stop backstage creating looks to match the collections of graduating fashion designers. And this year THREE of ’em were ours!
Sammie says: “I’m SO PLEASED that I got the opportunity to fly the flag for Saks at GFW, at Old Truman Brewery. I experienced new techniques and worked alongside extremely talented people from our brlliant industry. I certainly won’t be forgetting it and would do it again in a heartbeat! We worked on De Montfort University, UCA Epsom and Kingston University”.

Izzy – no stranger to backstage styling having assisted Luke backstage previously – says: “How good is taking part in GFW?! It was an amazing experience where I learnt loads of session styling skills for catwalk hair. All the L’Oréal Professionnel team were great to work with – totally loved the whole event!”
And Estelle sums it all up saying: “I’m loving being part of Saks A-Team! Apart from the obvious advanced hair training and being backstage it also gives me the chance to meet other Saks stylists to share ideas and learn together. Making good mates as well – win-win!”
