#Saks4Eve fundraising

Reading Time: 3 minutes

After launching our two year partnership in February, raising funds for and awareness of women’s cancers with The Eve Appeal, our Saks4Eve fundraising salons are totally embracing the cause. Here’s a round up of who’s done what… so far.

Buy pin badges, spread the word and eat cake… we do it so well!

SPREADING THE WORD ABOUT SAKS AT THE HOUSE OF COMMONS

To kick-start our partnership we popped to a tea party at the House of Commons to mark Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Hosted by Sharon Hodgson MP and The Eve Appeal, the event was attended by an array of MPs, celebs and totally amazing women sharing their experiences.

We heard some truly inspiring stories whilst spending time chatting about our #Saks4Eve partnership with supporters: Lesley Joseph, Denise Welsh, Christopher Biggins and existing friend of Saks Ola Jordan.

PLENTY OF CAKE… AND OUR FIRST FROCK SWAP

With the focus being on Make Time For Tea during May we totally embraced holding our own tea parties to raise funds….

Three Saks Aberdeen salons, Saks Cheam, Saks Dundee, Saks MiddletonSaks Oldham, Saks Poulton, Saks ScarboroughSaks Scotch Corner, Saks Sutton Coldfield, Saks Whitley Bay and Saks HQ all channelled a Saksy British Bake-off vibe with varying degrees of baking skills! We poured gallons of tea and coffee and the odd glass of prosecco whilst offering up goodies galore for our customers… who absolutely loved joining in!

Saks Lytham held a Frock Swap for fashionistas (we DO love a good bargain), Saks Northallerton held a skin-focus beauty event, Saks Exeter raffled goodies galore whilst Saks Derby had amazing success selling lots of gorgeous #Saks4Eve pin badges!

Just as we thought, our salons are loving doing the daft stuff to raise funds. Saks Merton Abbey Mills grabbed Matt from their Virgin Active Club for a spot of waxing which went down a storm in the club! Thanks for volunteering, Matt!

Saks Bishop Auckland arranged a big ol’ balloon pop… with a 50/50 chance of winning a gorgeous hair or beauty prize.

WE WELCOMED EVE CHAMPION, LOUISE WISSON, TO SAKS KINGS HILL

We were thrilled when The Eve Appeal put us into contact with one of their lovely champions, Louise Wisson who agreed to pop along to Saks Kings Tea event and share her experience of fighting cancer. Diagnosed with Primary Peritoneal Cancer in December 2012 (a rare cancer that behaves much like ovarian cancer and is treated the same way), Louise was advised she had only a 30% chance of survival. But she beat the beast in April 2013 and although it returned Louise continues her fight and has also dedicated the last three years to raising £10k for The Eve Appeal… so far! Find out more about Louise’s journey here.

The Eve Appeal team is loving getting Saksy! Read Becca’s blog here.

EVERYONE LOVES OUR #SAKS4EVE PIN BADGES

We’re selling gorgeous #Saks4Eve pin badges at Reception in ALL of our salons. At only £1 they’re a firm fave and can be seen adorning the lapels of chic Saks women all around the UK. If you’re passing, why not pop in and bag one, or two, or three…

COMING SOON…

We’ll be announcing how much we have raised so far very soon and we have lots of sparkly in-salon events, big challenges including Saks Doncaster in the Leeds Half Marathon and lots more daft stuff too!
