And The Award Goes To…
Drum roll please! Our much-loved salon Apprentice, Owen, not only pipped everyone to the post by becoming a finalist at the 2019 National Hairdressing Federation Awards, he only went and won too!
After working with us for just a year, we put Owen up for the Best Apprentice Award. And he beat four finalists at the glitzy awards ceremony at St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, London.
After beginning the evening with a drinks reception, followed by dinner before the big finale – the awards presentation, we all had a blast, celebrating Owen’s success in style.
And if winning one trophy wasn’t enough, Owen continues to enter as many awards as he can get his hands on, coming third in a recent category he entered, after receiving some top-notch support from the team.
Owen trains with Saks Apprenticeships and loves learning on the job, whilst doing what he loves best… being part of our super Saks family!
Conversation and charisma are ever present when Owen is in the room. And check this out – he not only adds va va voom to Instagram, posting stunning pics of our stunning hair, but he manages our social media pages too. Go Owen! Our salon owner Nikki Hughes says “He’s very passionate about hairdressing, and is soooo supportive in everything he does, greeting each and every one of our customers, always giving that added extra”.
But GET THIS FOR DEDICATION. His talent doesn’t stop there – oh no! Owen is a super-talented singer, and after entering into auditions for ‘The Voice’ and getting as far as the televised auditions, Owen decided not to take his singing any further, and instead, focused his talents purely on hair.
