What makes Saks Northallerton special? US, OF COURSE! Salon owner Katie and our team of Northallerton hairdressers are friendly, professional and obsessed with all-things hair. As part of Saks we’re trained by the best in the biz… so we’re experts at what we do.
Our stylists are up-to-date with cutting, styling and colour techniques from Katie and Saks Art Team, and we also receive training from global hair brand L’Oreal Professionnel.

SALON OWNER
Katie says “We won Saks Hair Salon of the Year 2018 and that says it all! I was a member of Saks Art Team, delivering hair training at Saks UK for 15 years and worked on clients in Saks at Teeside. Apart from ensuring Saks standards UK-wide I helped create national hair campaigns that appeared everywhere! So, owning my own Saks salon was the next natural step, nurturing a creative team - I love seeing the team grow and develop! They’re very creative, always wanting to learn. Our dynamics are strong and we create a great atmosphere, which our customers love!”.
SHAY
FRONT OF HOUSE
We. Love. Shay. Runs front-of-house like a dream, alongside our other hostess with the mostess, Ali Dawkins. Nothing’s a problem when you’re in, Shay will work her magic to get your appointments booked in when you want them and is always on hand for a catchup as well. In her previous life she managed at Topshop and also brings lots of human resources experience to our salon and loves looking after the team. Cherishes family time with Andrew, Grace and Bella the Labradoodle - the princess of the household! We’re loving watching Gracey grow, she’ll be a Saks Northallerton prom princess in the blink of an eye!
BECCI
PRINCIPAL STYLIST
Becci is a hugely popular stylist with customers and colleagues alike and is super-busy with a large, loyal clientele. Completed Saks A-Team creative programme in 2018, and comes with full L’Oreal colour certification, including balayage, ombre, bleach & toners and Saks Signature Colour techniques. Loreal colour trophy regional finalist 2017. A great addition to the salon team when she joined us as an apprentice – fab to see her Saks journey unfold. Lives and breaths health and fitness and usually has an exciting venture planned for when she’s away from the salon.
LLOYD
SENIOR STYLIST
New to our salon floor in November 2018 after completing his apprenticeship with us, Lloyd’s proud to be one of our Northallerton hairdressers and is all about paying great attention to detail. He loves his colour work – particularly highlighting and with the balayage hand-painting technique to show off his creativity and he’s also brilliant at barbering. Talking of attention to detail, his Kérastase product knowledge is immense and he’s missed for his head massages at the backwash now he’s working the salon floor. Likes to get to the gym when he has time and energy after work. Style icon? Bit of a Peaky Blinder on the side!
LAURA
PRINCIPAL STYLIST
Sums up salon-life as “a good vibe”. Home life is busy and half an hour of me-time and it’s off to the gym, or hop in a bubble bath or catch up on a box-set. Speaking of which, her fave is Desperate Housewives. Laura says exercise is great for the mind, body and soul. And a guilty pleasure is… a big bar of Cadbury’s Wholenut. Fave holiday destination is Ibiza (fair one). And her hair icons are Mollie King, Molly-Mae Hague, Jennifer Lopez and Margot Robbie!
SOPHIA
APPRENTICE
A special Saks story! Sophia started with us on a Saturday at 14 and went to uni but knew it wasn’t for her. After a lightbulb moment she kickstarted a career in hair back in our salon. Loves getting creative every day and lives for beachy waves styling. Says we’re a fab team and how everyone is good fun to work with – that’s us! Her hair icon is Miley Cyrus for always changing it up and a night out can be partying or bowling or a snug night in!
ALEX
APPRENTICE
Our fabulous Alex loves to transform her customers, particularly with extensions or smoothing Keratin treatments, both making a huge difference to the hair. Her fave part of hairdressing is getting creative, having a vision and pulling it all come together. Best colours are caramel balayage and bright icy blondes. Why does Alex work for Saks? “Your amazing reputation and how friendly all the staff were at my interview!” says Alex. Home life is? “BUSY. I’m always doing something – I can’t sit still for five minutes.” Away from the salon, Alex loves to meet friends and binge watch Gavin and Stacey (for at least the tenth time!). Either that or holidaying to Ibiza with the girls.
