What is Saks looking for in a franchisee?
You should be business-minded and looking for an opportunity with the resources of a large, international company. You should be an experienced hairdresser, beauty therapist or salon manager, or a business person from outside the industry, with a genuine interest in hairdressing, health and beauty, together with a hairdressing or beauty business partner or finally, an investor seeking a hairdressing or beauty business partner.
Strong communication, team skills and marketing ability are an advantage. Commitment and drive are essential.
What support do I get from Saks Franchise Services?
An established business format, including brand name and values, comprehensive support systems, business expertise and training.
How much does it cost to open a salon?
Costs vary and depend on your individual circumstances. Capital investment is required, although financial backing may be obtainable in some cases. If you require finance Saks works closely with a number of banks, minimum investment is usually £20,000.
How long would it take to open my own salon?
This varies, depending on site availability once the franchise agreement has been signed. Salons usually take upto 6 months to open. However opportunities to open an existing salon may be available to purchase.
Can I open more than one Saks salon?
Yes. Many successful franchisees have several Saks salons.
I'd like to enter into business with a partner. Would this be possible?
Yes. Many salons within the Saks network are a partnership. If you are a hands on hairdresser or beauty therapist then you may wish to consider a partnership with another hairdresser or beauty therapist or a financial backer. Many scenarios are acceptable.
What are the current franchise fees?
The current franchise fees (as at 1st January 2009) are:
Hair Agreement - Franchise Fee = £13,500 + VAT
Beauty Agreement - Franchise Fee = £8,000 + VAT
Hair & Beauty Agreement - Franchise Fee = £20,000 + VAT
The fee is paid in one installment. The term is for ten years. Management Service Fees are 10% of gross turnover.
At times opportunities of existing salons may become available, if you're willing to relocate then finance or capital may already be available for your investment.
