New to Saks Art Team

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Boop boop be doop… we’re LOVING welcoming Sarah Clarke-Lees (principal stylist at Saks Lytham) as the seventh member of Saks Art Team! With 18 years’ hairdressing experience Sarah joined Saks only 2.5 years ago, working between our Saks Lytham and Saks Poulton salons for co-salon owners Natasha Langthorne and Natalie Crank.

Seeing great potential, Natasha and Natalie encouraged Sarah to explore her creativity at every opportunity… with the first step being to apply to join Saks A-Team in 2015 – our year-long programme for our stylists wanting to head out of town to spend time being mentored by Saks Art Team. Sarah’s also in the role of in-salon educator in the two salons.

Sarah has also attained the L’Oréal Colour Expert Degree and has reached the prestigious L’Oréal Colour Trophy regional finals TWICE already!

Backstage styling includes representing Saks UK Backstage and on the Saks Pamper Lounge twice at The Clothes Show, Ong-oaj Pairam at London Fashion Week, and a Miss England shoot plus numerous styling events and photoshoots as part of Saks A-Team 2015.  In July 2016 Sarah undertook her first Art Team appointment, along with seasoned A-Teamer Zoe Chamberlain of Saks Lincoln, at a big old braiding event for LookXGlamorous at the flagship store at the Trafford Centre, Manchester!

Our Creative Director Luke Pluckrose – who also heads up Saks Art Team – says: “For me it doesn’t get any better. Sarah is a shining example of the career opportunities that we give to our stylists at Saks. After only being here what seems like five minutes Sarah had her eyes on SAKS A-TEAM and we’ve loved nurturing her talent and we’re also looking forward to developing Sarah as a training mentor.”

Natasha says: “We’re SO PROUD of Sarah’s Saks journey. For two years she’s been looking after our apprentice in-salon training, and has always shown dedication, hard work and above all creativity. Having an Art Team member at Saks Lytham is very exciting. We’re excited about all the opportunities that will come her way.. and can’t wait to hear all the tales of backstage!”

Sarah joins Luke, Clare Murphy (Saks Training UK), Katy Adamson (Saks Northallerton), Paul Calladine (Saks Doncaster), James Maher (Saks Kenilworth), and Shaun Stringfellow (Saks Teesside).
