£90k raised for gynae cancers!
Everyone is getting that Saks UK people are passionate about raising vital funds and awareness for the The Eve Appeal’s pioneering research into gynaecological cancers. Well, things just got TOO special.
No words to describe how we feel as we let you know that our fabulous salons and customers have raised over £90,000 for our chosen national charity partner.
SO HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?
Our people have been putting the fun AND FAB into our fundraising since day one. Here’s a tiny snapshot of this year so far…
ABOUT JESS AND SAKS BARNARD CASTLE’S VALENTINE’S BALL
Senior stylist Jess Hesp at Saks Barnard Castle – only 21 by the way – was inspired by Saks Hexham’s glitzy events and decided to put on a bit of a do. Our girl arranged every aspect of a swish charity ball at Headlam Hall, County Durham, from organising the venue and menu to arranging a photographer, live band, auction and more… raising £1,950 on the night. Jess says: “Yup, that was amazing and I so wanting to do it again!”
AND ABOUT TEA!
We kick-started our THIRD year of Make Time For Tea at Eve’s annual House of Commons launch, taking one of our top fundraisers Anna Clinton of Saks Sedbury Hall along. As usual it was great to catch up with team Eve, Sharon Hodgson MP and an array of supporters and celebs.
Of course, our lot said a resounding ‘HELL YES’ when asked to join Make Time For Tea…
Cakes were baked, bought and donated, tea, coffee and prosecco poured, hair and beauty treats planned, Eve t-shirts worn and SOOOO many tickets were sold with out-of-this-world raffle prizes.
Other Very Special mentions…
Saks Beauty Gosforth, Saks Guisborough, Saks Beauty Halifax, Saks Hertford, Saks HQ, Saks Hull, Saks Lincoln, Saks Middleton, Saks Northallerton, Saks Poulton, Saks Sedbury Hall, Saks Skipton, Saks Beauty Teesside, Saks Wetherby and Saks West Bridgford.
ABOUT JOANNE, OUR SKYDIVER AT SAKS LINCOLN
Joanne Glassby, senior therapist, at Saks Lincoln joins the Saks4Eve Crazy Club after jumping 10,000 feet at Sibson Airfield, Peterborough. Joanne says: “I wanted to do something I wouldn’t normally dream of and really push myself out of my comfort zone – it just had to be done for our amazing charity!”
News of more big challenges coming soon.
