Does it matter what age I am?
No, we welcome students of all ages (16+) and all levels of experience.
When are the academies open?
6 days a week. 51 weeks a year (we close for 1 week over Christmas).
Can I study part time?
Yes, we offer evening classes and flexible days.
Is it possible to pay for courses by instalments?
Yes, there is an interest free payment plan available for some full time and evening hair and beauty beginners courses. Please contact us for further information.
Do I need to bring my own kit?
Hair: NVQ Level 2 Beginners and Barbering will be given a full hairdressing kit. For all other courses please ensure you bring all electrical equipment, scissors, brushes etc. An array of Saksessories (the tools used by the Saks Art Team) are available to purchase at the Academies reception.
Beauty: Kits are provided (where relevant) for all beauty courses
Can I bring a camera on my course?
Yes, we advise that you bring a camera to record your inspirations throughout the day
Am I qualified to work in a salon after completing the Fast Track Hair or Beauty Beginners course?
Upon successful completion you will possess the skills required to enter a salon. Over 90% of our graduates have gone on to successful employment in salons.
Will the Fast Track Beginners courses give me a recognised qualification?
Beginners Hair; Yes you will obtain an NVQ level 2 in hairdressing or men’s hairdressing.
Beginners Beauty; Yes you will obtain an NVQ level 2 or 3 in beauty therapy.
Do I need to bring my own model?
No, the Saks Academies will provide non-professional models however we cannot guarantee that the model will be suitable at all times therefore alternative options will be made (i.e. training heads for hairdressing). On the beauty course there may be occasions where you will be required to work on each other.
How do I pay for the course?
A 20% registration fee is applicable on all bookings. Any remaining fees are to be paid 4 weeks prior to the course start date.
